The album contains 13 tracks wich Anna describes in the booklet:
I wanted to make this, my second album, using only my own songs.
Most of the songs are sparkling new but some I wrote years ago.
Just Once More for example, I wrote as a teenager, but I like it still and adding a string quartet has made the whole song feel a lot warmer. The melancholy, continental mood of The Moon Takes On A Shade Of Paler White with its beautiful , stylish acoustic guitar solo makes that piece one of my favourites. In New York Without You is a jazz ballad in 3/4 time with a romantic
New York feeling. I have spent a lot of time in the Big Apple and I love the vibes of that city.
A Night For Celebration is my tribute to the seductive sensuality of Latin music. The Bossa Novas No One Compares and Easy Love as well as the blues numbers Lonely Afternoon and Won´t Let You Go To My Head all have a strong retro feel.
Darling I´ll Miss You is a little song about unfaithful love and Oh la la which was originally a pop song I wrote many years ago, have been given a jazzy character by changing the harmonies and colouring the chords. On the ballad We Are Fools adding a string quartet has given the tune a tender sadness that suits the lyrics. I wanted to include a duet and in Crush I like the playful contrast between my voice and the voice of Claes Jansson.
Goodbye is a piece I arranged in the studio, purely instinctively. The result is a little bit like world music.
